HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LA CROSSE WI
403 AM CDT THU AUG 28 2014

...LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE FROM LATE THIS MORNING INTO
SATURDAY MORNING...

HEAVY RAIN IS LIKELY ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE AREA FROM LATE THIS
MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING. RAINFALL AMOUNTS DURING THIS
TIME PERIOD WILL BE IN THE 2 TO 3 INCH RANGE WITH LOCALLY HIGHER
AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. THIS COULD RESULT IN WITHIN BANK RISES ON AREA
WATERWAYS AND THE POTENTIAL FOR LOCALIZED FLOODING.

THE RAIN LOOKS TO FALL IN TWO HEAVIER ROUNDS. THE FIRST ROUND WILL
FALL FROM LATE THIS MORNING THROUGH TONIGHT. THIS ROUND WILL
PRODUCE ANYWHERE FROM A HALF TO 2 INCHES. THE HEAVIEST RAIN LOOKS
TO FALL ACROSS NORTHEAST IOWA...SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA...AND ALONG
AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 90 IN WESTERN WISCONSIN.

THE SECOND ROUND WILL PRODUCE ANYWHERE FROM A HALF TO 1.50 INCHES
FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON INTO SATURDAY MORNING. THE HEAVIEST RAIN
LOOKS TO FALL ACROSS NORTHEAST IOWA AND ALONG AND SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 94 IN WESTERN WISCONSIN.

IF THE SECOND ROUND OF RAIN IS HEAVIER OR REPEATS OVER THE SAME
LOCATIONS AS THE THURSDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHT RAINS...THE THREAT
FOR FLASH FLOODING AND RIVER FLOODING WOULD INCREASE.

STAY TUNED TO LATER FORECASTS AND STATEMENTS.
