HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK

...HEAVY RAINFALL EXPECTED THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY
MORNING...

CONFIDENCE CONTINUES TO INCREASE FOR A ROUND OF HEAVY RAINS TO
FALL ACROSS THE AREA FROM THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY...WITH MUCH OF THE
RAIN FALLING THURSDAY NIGHT. A POTENT LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM LIFTING
ACROSS THE CENTRAL PLAINS WILL BRING ALONG REMNANT MOISTURE FROM
TROPICAL SYSTEM BLANCA NORTHWARD WITH IT. THIS TROPICAL MOISTURE
WILL SET THE STAGE FOR HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS THE AREA.

FROM ONE TO AROUND 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL IS LOOKING LIKELY FROM
MAINLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING. BANDS OF
THUNDERSTORMS COULD PRODUCE LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS...IN THE
3 TO 5 INCH RANGE. WITH SOME RIVERS ALREADY SOMEWHAT ELEVATED
FROM RECENT RAINFALL...THERE IS A HEIGHTENED CONCERN FOR BANKFULL
RISES AND POSSIBLE FLOODING ON STREAMS AND RIVERS ACROSS THE AREA.

ALTHOUGH CONFIDENCE IS INCREASING ON THE HEAVY RAINFALL...THE
EXACT LOCATION OF THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL REMAINS IN QUESTION. THE
LATEST CONSENSUS WOULD PLACE THE HEAVIEST BAND ABOUT 50 MILES
EITHER SIDE OF INTERSTATE 90...BUT THIS STILL HAS CONSIDERABLE
POTENTIAL TO SHIFT NORTH OR SOUTH BEFORE THURSDAY. EXPECTED
RAINFALL TRENDS WILL CONTINUE TO BE MONITORED AND FLOOD WATCHES
MAY BE NEEDED FOR PORTIONS OF THE AREA.

STAY ABREAST OF FUTURE FORECASTS FOR UPDATED INFORMATION
CONCERNING THE UPCOMING HEAVY RAIN AND FLOODING POTENTIAL...
ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE INTERESTS ALONG AREA RIVERS.
