...Flooding possible along The Cedar River...Dobbins Creek...and
Turtle Creek...

Although the area dodge most of the rainfall last night, heavy rain
is forecast for today through tomorrow. This, combined with the
already moist soil conditions, is expected to result in rising water
levels. Should this forecast rainfall materialize, flooding is
possible.

Below is the possible river crests based on the amount of rain we
are expecting...be sure to monitor the weather and check back for
updates.


For Turtle Creek at Austin 3NW...The stage this morning was 4.31
feet. Flood stage is 10.5 feet. The river is forecast to rise above
flood stage Thursday morning, and reach a crest between 12 and
13 feet Friday morning. This would result in Moderate flooding.

For Dobbins Creek at Austin 2NE...The stage this morning was 7.09
feet. Flood stage is 11.5 feet. The river is forecast to rise above
flood stage Thursday morning, and reach a crest between 13 and 14
feet Thursday afternoon. This would result in Minor flooding.

For the Cedar River...
At Lansing...The stage this morning was 11.46 feet. Flood stage is
18.0 feet. The river is forecast to rise above flood stage Thursday
morning, and reach between 19 and 20 feet Friday morning. This would
result in Minor flooding.

At Austin...The stage this morning was 5.20 feet. Flood stage is
15.0 feet. The river is forecast to rise above flood stage on
Thursday, and reaching a crest near 19 feet Friday morning. This
would result in Moderate flooding.

At Osage...The stage this morning was estimated to be near 16 feet.
Flood stage is 22.0 feet. The river is forecast to rise above flood
stage Thursday, and reach a crest between 25 and 26 feet Friday
morning. This would result in moderate flooding.

At Charles City...The stage this morning was 5.44 feet. Flood stage
is 12.0 feet. The river is forecast to rise above flood stage
Thursday, and reach a crest between 20 and 21 feet on Friday. This
would result in Major flooding.
