NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LA CROSSE WI
1021 AM CDT TUE SEP 20 2016

...PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN MAY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING TONIGHT
THROUGH THURSDAY...

.SLOW MOVING LOW PRESSURE OVER THE CENTRAL PLAINS WILL COMBINE
WITH PLENTIFUL MOISTURE TO DELIVER SEVERAL ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS TO MUCH OF THE AREA...BEGINNING TONIGHT AND
CONTINUING INTO THURSDAY EVENING. ANY STORMS THAT DEVELOP MAY BE
SLOW MOVING AND PRODUCE VERY HEAVY RAINFALL. MOST LOCATIONS ARE
EXPECTED TO PICK UP BETWEEN 2 AND 3 INCHES OF RAIN THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING...BUT WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 7
INCHES POSSIBLE WHERE STORMS TRACK ACROSS THE SAME AREAS. WITH
SOILS ALREADY QUITE WET FROM RECENT HEAVY RAIN OVER THE PAST
MONTH...FLOODING OF STREAMS AND RIVERS MAY DEVELOP FASTER THAN
NORMAL.
