FLOOD WATCH
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LA CROSSE WI
1137 AM CDT TUE SEP 9 2014

...HEAVY RAINFALL MOVING IN TONIGHT WITH FLASH FLOODING
POSSIBLE...

.PLAN ON HEAVY RAINFALL TO SPREAD ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION
TONIGHT WITH WIDESPREAD RAIN AMOUNTS EXPECTED TO BE IN THE 1 TO 3
INCH RANGE. RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR COULD
BE SEEN...LEADING TO LOCALLY HIGHER RAINFALL AMOUNTS. SINCE THIS
HEAVIER RAINFALL WILL BE OCCURRING DURING THE NIGHT TIME
HOURS...MOTORISTS SHOULD BE ALERT AND STAY TUNED TO LATEST
CONDITIONS...FORECASTS AND UPDATES. POSSIBLE HAZARDS OF THIS
LOCALIZED HEAVIER RAINFALL INCLUDE LOW VISIBILITY AND POSSIBLE
WASHED OUT ROADWAYS. THIS COULD LEAD TO VERY TREACHEROUS DRIVING
CONDITIONS.

THERE IS STILL SOME AMOUNT OF UNCERTAINTY OF WHERE THE HEAVIEST
RAINFALL WILL BE FOCUSED...BUT CONFIDENCE IS PRETTY HIGH THAT THE
TIMING OF THE HEAVIER RAINFALL WILL BE LATE THIS EVENING THROUGH
EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.
