The National Weather Service in La Crosse has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Clayton County in northeastern Iowa...
  Fayette County in northeastern Iowa...
  Southern Chickasaw County in northeastern Iowa...

* Until 1015 AM CDT Saturday

* At 336 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding
  continuing across the area. Many roads are closed due to washouts
  or water flowing over them. While rain has shifted south of the
  area, flash flooding will continue through mid morning due to
  excessive runoff from 5 to 10 inches of rain.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Oelwein, New Hampton, West Union, Nashua, Fayette, Strawberry
  Point, Fredericksburg, Elgin, Clermont, Maynard, Hawkeye,
  Arlington, Ionia, Volga, Chickasaw, Wadena, Westgate, Randalia,
  Bassett and Bradford.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
