.Here are the latest river stages and forecasts for continued
flooding along the Kickapoo River in southwest Wisconsin, and the
Upper Iowa and Turkey Rivers in northeast Iowa.

River forecasts take into account both observed and forecast
precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive cars into flooded areas. Remember, it only takes two
feet of water to float most automobiles, including sport utility
vehicles. Turn Around, Don`t Drown!

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Kickapoo River At Steuben.
* until Friday morning...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 2:45 PM Thursday the stage was 12.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Forecast...The river crested this morning and is now falling
  slowly. The river will continue to fall this evening, dropping
  below flood stage overnight.
* Impact...At 12.5 feet...Water reaches the bottom support beams of
  the bridge.

* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to between 26 and
  27 feet by Friday morning.

* At 2:15 PM Thursday the stage was 16.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by evening and continue to
  rise to a crest between 27 and 28 feet by Friday afternoon.
* Impact...At 26.0 feet...The earthen levee at Elkport is
  threatened, just upstream of Garber.

  stage by Saturday morning.
