.Major flooding continues along the Turkey River near Elkader...and
Garber. The river is expected to reach its crest this morning at
Elkader...and this evening at Garber.

River forecasts take into account both observed and forecast
precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive cars into flooded areas. Remember, it only takes two
feet of water to float most automobiles, including sport utility
vehicles. Turn Around, Don`t Drown!

  The Turkey River At Elkader.
* until Sunday evening...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:45 AM Friday the stage was 22.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring.
* Forecast...The river will crest near 22.4 feet this morning.
  The river will fall below flood stage Sunday morning.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Turkey River At Garber.
* until Sunday afternoon...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8:15 AM Friday the stage was 20.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 24.0 feet by this
  evening. The river will fall below flood stage Saturday evening.
* Impact...At 26.0 feet...The earthen levee at Elkport is threatened,
  just upstream of Garber.
