...Moderate to Major Flooding Continues along the Turkey River
Downstream of Elkader...

.Heavy rain on Friday night caused moderate to major flooding along
portions of the Turkey River.  Elkader has fallen below flood
stage, so cancelled the flood warning there.  Meanwhile, major
flooding is expected at Garber as additional water flows in from the
Volga River.

River forecasts take into account both observed and forecast
precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive cars into flooded areas. Remember, it only takes two
feet of water to float most automobiles, including sport utility
vehicles. Turn Around, Don`t Drown!

The Flood Warning is cancelled for
  The Turkey River At Elkader.
* At  3:45 AM Sunday the stage was 11.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Fell below flood stage at  2:30 AM Sunday.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to 8.7 feet by Monday
  morning.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Turkey River At Garber.
* until Monday evening...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  3:15 AM Sunday the stage was 22.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 25.0 feet by
  today. The river will fall below flood stage Monday morning.
