.Recent heavy rainfall has resulted in very significant flooding along
the Turkey River. Major Flooding is expected to develop at Elkader...
Garber...and nearby areas.

River forecasts take into account both observed and forecast
precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive cars into flooded areas. Remember, it only takes two
feet of water to float most automobiles, including sport utility
vehicles. Turn Around, Don`t Drown!

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Turkey River At Elkader.
* until Sunday evening...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  9:45 AM Thursday the stage was 14.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 27.0 feet by
  Friday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Sunday
  morning.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Turkey River At Garber.
* until Sunday afternoon...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  9:15 AM Thursday the stage was 16.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage by this afternoon
  and continue to rise to near 28.0 feet by Friday.
  The river will fall below flood stage by Saturday evening.
* Impact...At 26.0 feet...The earthen levee at Elkport is threatened,
  just upstream of Garber.
