The National Weather Service in La Crosse has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Clayton County in northeastern Iowa...
  Fayette County in northeastern Iowa...
  Southern Chickasaw County in northeastern Iowa...

* Until 1000 PM CDT Saturday

* At 141 PM CDT, emergency management reported the town of Volga has
  been evacuated due to rising water levels along the Volga River in
  southwest Clayton County. Flooding has also been reported along
  the Volga River near Fayette...and along the Little Wapsipinicon
  River near Fairbank in southwest Fayette County.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Oelwein, New Hampton, West Union, Nashua, Fayette, Strawberry
  Point, Fredericksburg, Elgin, Clermont, Maynard, Hawkeye,
  Arlington, Ionia, Volga, Stanley, Chickasaw, Wadena, Westgate,
  Randalia and Bassett.

Flood waters are moving down the Volga River from Fayette to
Volga...and the Little Wapsipinicon River from far southeast
Chickisaw County to near Fairbank.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
