...Significant Flooding Expected Along The Cedar River...

.Extremely heavy rainfall overnight is causing rapid rises along the
Cedar River and its tributaries. Flooding is expected all along the
Cedar River, and flooding could reach moderate to major levels in
some locations.

River forecasts take into account both observed and forecast
precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you live in a threatened area, be alert for high or rising water,
and be ready to move to higher ground if necessary.

Do not drive cars into flooded areas. Remember, it only takes two
feet of water to float most automobiles, including sport utility
vehicles. Turn Around, Don`t Drown!

* from this afternoon to Sunday afternoon.
* At 1:00 AM Thursday the stage was estimated to be near 16.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by today and continue to rise to
  near 26.5 feet by Friday morning.

* from this afternoon to Monday morning.
* At 4:30 AM Thursday the stage was 8.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by today and continue to rise to
  near 22.5 feet by Friday morning.
* Impact...At 21.5 feet...Clark street at Brantingham floods and the
  Chautauqua Avenue lift station wet well requires sandbagging.
