...A Wet and Warm Summer in Rochester MN...

During the astronomical summer of 2016...both temperatures and
rainfall was above average at Rochester International Airport.

More details are listed below...

Temperatures - 22nd Warmest

During astronomical summer...Rochester International Airport had an
average temperature of 69.4 degrees.  This was 1.3 degrees warmer
than the long-term average of 68.1 degrees.

The average maximum temperature was 78.9 degrees.  This was 0.3
degrees colder than the long-term average of 79.2 degrees.

The average minimum temperature was 59.9 degrees.  This was 2.9
degrees warmer than the long-term average of 57.0 degrees.   This
summer`s average minimum temperature was tied with 2002 for the 2nd
warmest.  Only the summers 1947 (60.4 degrees) had a higher minimum
temperature average.

Other temperature tidbits this summer...

The hottest temperature was 90 degrees on July 21st and July 22nd
The coldest high temperature was 67 degrees on June 23rd...September
13th...and September 17th.

The coldest temperature was 50 degrees on September 11th and
September 14th. The warmest low temperature was 78 degrees on July
21st.

The temperature climbed to or exceeded 90 degrees on 2 days.
Normally, there are 10 days per summer.

Precipitation - 5th Wettest

During the astronomical summer of 2016...Rochester International
Airport received 21.17 inches of rain.  This was 9.44 inches wetter
than the long-term normal of 11.73 inches. This was the 5th wettest
summer on record and the wettest since 1986 (22.37 inches - 3rd
wettest).  The wettest summer occurred in 1978 when 24.13 inches of
