SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION...

THE FEBRUARY AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR ROCHESTER WAS 7.8 DEGREES. THIS
WAS 12.5 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL AND RANKED AS THE 5TH COLDEST
FEBRUARY ON RECORD. THE AVERAGE HIGH WAS 17.1 DEGREES WHILE THE
AVERAGE LOW WAS -1.6 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH
WAS 36 DEGREES ON THE 7TH. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE IN FEBRUARY WAS 17
DEGREES BELOW ZERO WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 5TH.

A TOTAL OF 0.65 INCHES OF LIQUID PRECIPITATION WAS MEASURED DURING
THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY. THIS AMOUNT WAS 0.18 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. THE
GREATEST 1 DAY PRECIPITATION TOTAL WAS 0.20 INCHES WHICH OCCURRED ON
THE 1ST. THERE WAS A TOTAL OF 10.6 INCHES OF SNOW DURING THE MONTH
OF FEBRUARY. THE GREATEST ONE-DAY SNOWFALL TOTAL WAS 3.9 INCHES
WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 3RD OF THE MONTH.

FEBRUARY WAS MOSTLY DOMINATED BY A NORTHWEST FLOW THAT ALLOWED COLD
ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE TO MAKE REPEATED DROPS INTO THE REGION. THE 7.8
DEGREE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE RANKED AS THE 5TH COLDEST ON
RECORD...REMEMBERING ALSO THAT FEBRUARY 2014 WAS THE 4TH COLDEST...
MAKING FOR BACK TO BACK COLD FEBRUARYS. THERE WERE 23 DAYS DURING
THE MONTH WITH BELOW NORMAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURES.

...LOOKING AHEAD TO MARCH...

THE NORMAL HIGH RISES FROM 33 DEGREES ON THE 1ST...TO 49 DEGREES ON
THE 31ST. IN ADDITION...THE NORMAL LOW INCREASES FROM 18 DEGREES ON
THE 1ST...TO 30 DEGREES ON THE 31ST. THE MONTHLY MEAN TEMPERATURE
FOR MARCH IS 32.4 DEGREES.

MARCH AVERAGES 1.88 INCHES OF MELTED PRECIPITATION WHICH IS MORE THAN
TWICE THE AMOUNT OF THAT IN FEBRUARY. THERE ARE NORMALLY 10 DAYS WITH
MEASURABLE PRECIPITATION DURING THE MONTH IN ROCHESTER. THE AVERAGE
SNOWFALL IS 8.7 INCHES...WHICH MAKES MARCH THE 3RD SNOWIEST MONTH.
