...Temperatures during the month of March at Rochester Minnesota
was slightly below normal and received above normal
precipitation...

The average temperature for the month was 31.2 degrees, which was
1.2 degrees below normal. The average high temperature was 38.3
degrees and the average low was 24.1 degrees. The highest
temperature for the month was 63 degrees, which occurred on the 6th
and the coldest temperature was 1 degree, which occurred on the 14th.

A total of 2.87 inches of precipitation fell during the month. This
was ninety ninety hundredths of an inch above normal. The greatest
24 hour precipitation was ninety two hundredths of an inch, which
occurred on the 6th.

A total of 8.4 inches of snow fell in the month. The greatest 24
hour snowfall was 7.0 inches which occurred from the 12th through
the 13th.

Rochester received ninety two hundredths of an inch of precipitation
on the 6th. This broke the record amount of precipitation of fifty
one hundredths of an inch previously set in 1995.

Temperatures in Rochester were slightly below normal in the month of
March. The coldest stretch occurred from the 9th to the 16th...where
the average daily temperature ranged from 2 to 18 degrees below the
normal. There were 8 days where the maximum temperature were at or
below 32 degrees. There were 20 days where the temperature dropped
to or below 32 degrees.
