...A STATEMENT CONCERNING THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER FROM LAKE CITY
DOWNSTREAM THROUGH GUTTENBERG DAM 10...

RUNOFF FROM MELTING SNOW OVER THE PAST FEW WEEKS...AS WELL AS RECENT
RAINFALL...IS RESULTING IN HIGH WATER ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER.
THE ONLY LOCATION THROUGH THIS AREA THAT WILL BE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE
IS THE MCGREGOR AREA. SEE THE LATEST FLOOD STATEMENT /MKEFLSARX/ FOR
INFORMATION ON THAT AREA.

FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER IN THIS REGION...WATER
LEVELS WILL GET TO WITHIN A FEW FEET OF FLOOD STAGE...BUT NO
FLOODING IS ANTICIPATED.  HERE ARE THE LATEST RIVER STAGES AND
FORECASTS...

FOR THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER...

AT LAKE CITY...THE STAGE FRIDAY EVENING WAS 13.61 FEET. FLOOD STAGE
IS 16 FEET. THE RIVER CRESTED ON THURSDAY AND HAS BEEN FALLING
SLOWLY SINCE THEN. THE RIVER IS FORECAST TO CONTINUE TO FALL OVER THE
NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.

AT WABASHA...THE STAGE FRIDAY EVENING WAS 11.88 FEET. FLOOD STAGE IS
12 FEET. THE RIVER CRESTED SLIGHTLY ABOVE FLOOD STAGE ON THURSDAY
AND HAS BEEN FALLING SLOWLY SINCE THEN. THE RIVER IS FORECAST TO
CONTINUE TO FALL OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.

AT ALMA DAM 4...THE STAGE FRIDAY WAS 10.99 FEET. FLOOD STAGE IS
16 FEET. THE RIVER CRESTED ON THURSDAY AND HAS BEEN FALLING SLOWLY
SINCE THEN. THE RIVER IS FORECAST TO CONTINUE TO FALL OVER THE NEXT
SEVERAL DAYS.

AT WINONA...THE STAGE FRIDAY EVENING WAS 11.98 FEET. FLOOD STAGE IS
13 FEET. THE RIVER IS NEAR ITS CREST NOW...AND SHOULD HOVER
BETWEEN 11.9 AND 12 FEET UNTIL SATURDAY EVENING BEFORE BEGINNING A
SLOW FALL.

AT LA CROSSE...THE STAGE FRIDAY EVENING WAS 11.1 FEET. FLOOD STAGE IS
12 FEET. THE RIVER IS NEAR ITS CREST NOW...AND SHOULD HOVER NEAR
11 FEET THROUGH SATURDAY BEFORE BEGINNING A SLOW FALL.

AT LANSING...THE STAGE FRIDAY EVENING WAS 12.62 FEET. FLOOD STAGE IS
17 FEET. THE RIVER IS FORECAST TO CREST NEAR 12.7 FEET SATURDAY
MORNING...AND THEN HOVER THERE THROUGH SUNDAY BEFORE BEGINNING A
SLOW FALL.

AT GUTTENBERG DAM 10...THE STAGE FRIDAY EVENING WAS 14.38 FEET. FLOOD
STAGE IS 15 FEET. THE RIVER IS FORECAST TO CREST NEAR 14.5 FEET ON
SATURDAY...AND THEN HOVER THERE THROUGH SUNDAY BEFORE BEGINNING A
SLOW FALL.
