...A statement concerning The Mississippi River from Lake City
downstream through Guttenberg Dam 10...

Parts of the area received between 1 and 4 inches of rainfall
overnight. More heavy rain is forecast for today through tomorrow.
This, combined with the already moist soil conditions, is expected to
result in rising water levels along the Mississippi River. At this
time, water levels should remain below flood stage, although there
is a chance that some minor flooding will be possible in places from
the La Crosse area downstream through Guttenberg.

Below are the possible river crests based on the amount of rain we
are expecting...be sure to monitor the weather and check back for
updates.

At Lake City...The stage Wednesday morning was 9.49 feet. Flood stage
is 16.0 feet. The river is forecast to reach a crest near 11.5 feet
on Monday.

At Wabasha...The stage Wednesday morning was 8.93 feet. Flood stage
is 12.0 feet. The river is forecast to rise to near 10.5 feet on
Monday.

At Alma Dam 4...The stage Wednesday morning was 6.88 feet. Flood
stage is 16.0 feet. The river is forecast to crest near 9 feet on
Monday.

At Winona...The stage Wednesday morning was 7.67 feet. Flood stage is
13.0 feet. The river is forecast to crest near 11 feet on Monday.

At La Crosse...The stage Wednesday morning was 8.08 feet. Flood stage
is 12.0 feet. The river is forecast to crest between 11.5 and 12
reach feet on Monday.

At Lansing...The stage Wednesday morning was 11.08 feet. Flood stage
is 17.0 feet. The river is forecast to crest between 14.5 and 15
feet on Monday.

At McGregor...The stage Wednesday morning was 11.95 feet. Flood stage
is 16.0 feet. The river is forecast to rise to near flood stage
by next Wednesday.

At Guttenberg Dam 10...The stage Wednesday morning was 11.06 feet.
Flood stage is 15.0 feet. The river is forecast to rise to a crest
near flood stage by Monday.
