URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LA CROSSE WI
1056 AM CST MON NOV 24 2014

...SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW CAUSING SLIPPERY TRAVEL...

.SNOW IS FALLING ALONG AND EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER...AND
SOME IS RATHER HEAVY. TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS REPORTED UP THROUGH
1030 AM ARE MAINLY IN THE 1 TO 2 INCH RANGE...BUT SOME PORTIONS OF
NORTHEAST IOWA HAD SEEN 3 INCHES. THIS SNOW WILL CONTINUE INTO THE
AFTERNOON HOURS. THE BACK EDGE OF THIS MAIN BAND OF SNOW WILL BE
SHIFTING EAST SLOWLY...BUT ADDITIONAL ROUNDS OF LIGHTER SNOWS ARE
DROPPING SOUTH ACROSS MINNESOTA AND MAY AFFECT THE REGION LATER
TODAY.

WITH THE WET SNOWFALL AND FALLING TEMPERATURES...ROADWAYS HAVE
BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE ON
LESSER TRAVELED ROADS AND UNTREATED SURFACES. IN ADDITION...BRISK
NORTHWEST WINDS OF 20 TO 35 MPH WILL FURTHER HAMPER TRAVEL AND
KEEP ROADS SNOW COVERED WITH SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING.

THE SNOW WILL SHIFT EAST AND END LATER TONIGHT.
