URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...SNOW...WIND...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL...

.SNOWFALL FROM 3 TO 5 INCHES HAS ALREADY FALLEN ACROSS PARTS OF
WESTERN AND NORTH-CENTRAL WISCONSIN...WITH LESSER AMOUNTS TO THE
SOUTH. WINDS HAVE ALSO BECOME STRONG AND GUSTY FROM AROUND THE
MISSISSIPPI RIVER WESTWARD...GUSTING UPWARDS OF 35 MPH.

THE SNOW WAS REDUCING VISIBILITIES TO 1/2 MILE AT TIMES AND
RESULTED IN QUICK...WET ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO 1 INCH PER HOUR.
LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTS SLUSHY...SNOWY...ICY ROADS...ESPECIALLY
SECONDARY AND UNTREATED ROADS.

THE BACKEDGE OF THE ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL LIKELY REACH THE I-94
CORRIDOR BY 4 PM...EXITING INTO NORTHEAST WISCONSIN BY 6 PM.

SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW COULD RESULT DESPITE THE WET
NATURE OF WHAT HAS FALLEN...ESPECIALLY OVER THE UNSHELTERED AREAS
OF NORTHEAST IOWA AND SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA...AND ALONG AREA RIDGE-
TOPS.

ROADS ARE SNOW COVERED...ICY AND SLIPPERY. STRONG WINDS WILL
BUFFET VEHICLES...ESPECIALLY ALONG NORTH SOUTH ORIENTED ROADS.
SLOW DOWN AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION. AVOID
TRAVEL THIS AFTERNOON IF YOU CAN.

LATER TONIGHT...COLD AIR RETURNS AND WILL REFREEZE SLUSH...WET
