URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...SNOW UNDERWAY...TRAVEL CONDITIONS GRADUALLY DETERIORATING THIS
AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING...

.SNOW HAS DEVELOPED ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA AND WILL CONTINUE TO
FALL THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS. PLAN ON A GRADUAL INCREASE IN
SNOW INTENSITY LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING...BECOMING
HEAVY AT TIMES. THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF AROUND SUNRISE OVER
SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA AND NORTHEAST IOWA BUT MAY CONTINUE INTO THE
MORNING COMMUTE OVER SOUTHWEST WISCONSIN.

SNOW AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES ARE EXPECTED...MAINLY LATE THIS
AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT. LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE...
ESPECIALLY ON RIDGE TOP OR OTHER HIGHER TERRAIN LOCATIONS. THE
HEAVIEST SNOWS WILL FALL IN NARROW BANDS...SO EXPECT VARIABILITY
IN AMOUNTS AT LOCATIONS EVEN JUST A FEW MILES APART.

FREEZING DRIZZLE MAY MIX IN LATE TONIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING AS
THE SNOW ENDS AND MOVES OUT OF THE AREA.

TRAVEL WILL BE IMPACTED WITH A RETURN TO WINTER DRIVING
CONDITIONS. ROAD CONDITIONS COULD DETERIORATE RAPIDLY IN ANY
HEAVIER SNOW.
