.DISCUSSION...

Dry and breezy weather will continue into this evening as a ridge
of high pressure slowly slides east of the area. Southeast winds
around 10-20 mph with gusts 20-30 mph (highest wind gusts are
around the Brainerd Lakes). RH values have fallen between 25 and
35 percent for most areas, but a few places have gotten around 25
percent.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected to move in from southwest to
northeast late tonight into Tuesday morning. Through Tuesday and
Tuesday night, a widespread wetting rainfall is expected with
amounts from ~0.30" along the International Border to 0.75" to 1"
for much of northwest Wisconsin. The greatest chance for
thunderstorms will be Tuesday afternoon and early evening. Most
storms are expected to be sub-severe, but there is a 5-10% chance
for severe storms in parts of northwest Wisconsin capable of
producing hail to 1" in diameter and strong winds to 60 mph.

Additional rain chances are possible Wednesday and Thursday
(20-40% chance), and a thunderstorm or two can`t be ruled out for
parts of northwest Wisconsin Wednesday afternoon/evening. Rainfall
amounts Wednesday and Thursday are generally expected to be light
(0.1" or less), but any thunderstorms can produce locally higher
amounts.
