...Thunderstorms with Gusty Winds Moving into Central Iowa...

At 457 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 11 miles north of Eagle Grove to 9 miles east
of Jefferson to near Avoca. Movement was southeast at 35 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms. Wind
gusts may occur ahead of the thunderstorms arrival.

In addition, heavy rainfall is possible mainly north of Highway 30.
Brief flooding of urban streets and low lying areas are possible as
this rain moves through fairly quickly this evening.

Locations impacted include...
Ames, Ankeny, Urbandale, Fort Dodge, Johnston, Clive, Waukee, Boone,
Grimes, Webster City, Perry, Atlantic, Jefferson, Adel, Clarion,
Audubon, Guthrie Center, Dakota City, Humboldt and Eagle Grove.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
