.SHORT TERM /THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/...
Issued at 301 PM MDT Sun Apr 28 2024

The closed upper low that brought meaningful rainfall to portions of
the area yesterday continues to lift to the northeast, into
portions of central Nebraska. Visible satellite imagery shows
the low centered over central and western Nebraska, and some
clearing skies across eastern Colorado. The low is expected to
continue to lift to the north/northeast overnight with clearing
skies. There will be a brief period of a few hours Monday
morning where some patchy frost may develop.

Monday and Tuesday, weak ridging, followed by zonal flow brings
warmer temperatures and sunny skies to the area. High temperatures
Monday will be in the 70s. A few 80s cannot be ruled out on
Tuesday.

&&

.LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Issued at 301 PM MDT Sun Apr 28 2024

Wednesday, a trough will begin to move into the area, shifting flow
to the southwest across the Tri-State area. Wednesday brings our
next chance of a few showers and thunderstorms, primarily in the
afternoon and evening hours. Although storms are not currently
outlooked to become severe, still keep an eye on this event.

Thursday and Friday, the trough moves further east into the region.
Expect cooler temperatures with highs in the 60s. There will be a
20-30% chance of a few showers moving through the region as this
system moves through. There is still some uncertainty in the models
over where the trough will track and the expected timing. Zonal
flow sets up again over the area heading into the weekend, with
warmer temperatures expected.
