The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Alexander County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...
  Northern Iredell County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...

* Until 745 PM EDT.

* At 700 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from near Boomer to near Taylorsville to 5 miles north of
  Newton, moving northeast at 50 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Taylorsville, Love Valley, Hiddenite, Olin, Vashti, Millersville,
  Union Grove, and Harmony.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for the Piedmont
of North Carolina.

building.
