...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH DAMAGING WINDS POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON
AND EVENING...

AT MIDDAY...A COLD FRONT WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST THROUGH INDIANA AND
SOUTHERN ILLINOIS. IN ADVANCE OF THIS FRONT...A WARM AND
INCREASINGLY UNSTABLE AIRMASS IS IN PLACE OVER KENTUCKY.
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER SOUTHERN INDIANA...
CENTRAL AND WESTERN KENTUCKY EARLY THIS AFTERNOON AND THEN MOVE
EASTWARD ACROSS EAST KENTUCKY FROM LATE AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING
HOURS.

THERE REMAINS AN ENHANCED POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS DURING
THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EVENING WITH DAMAGING WINDS BEING THE PRIMARY
THREAT. THE STRONGEST STORMS COULD ALSO PRODUCE LARGE HAIL. THE
THREAT FOR DAMAGING WINDS AND HAIL WILL COME TO AN END BY LATE
EVENING. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND
LIGHTNING WILL ACCOMPANY ANY THUNDERSTORM THROUGH TONIGHT AS WELL.
ISOLATED FLASH FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE FOR ANY LOCATIONS THAT
RECEIVE MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF THUNDERSTORMS. THIS THREAT WILL BE
GREATEST OVER THE UPPER CUMBERLAND REGION.

THE POTENTIAL STILL EXISTS FOR A WIDESPREAD SEVERE WEATHER EVENT
THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. RESIDENTS SHOULD STAY UPDATED ON THIS
DEVELOPING WEATHER SITUATION.
