...FEBRUARY IN LA CROSSE BROUGHT ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND
BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE IN LA CROSSE WAS 25.5 DEGREES. THIS WAS
3.0DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE AVERAGE HIGH WAS 33.7 WHILE THE
AVERAGE LOW WAS 17.3 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH
WAS 62 DEGREES ON THE 27TH. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE IN FEBRUARY WAS
8 DEGREES BELOW ZERO WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 13TH.

A TOTAL OF 0.78 INCHES OF LIQUID PRECIPITATION WAS MEASURED DURING
THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY. THIS AMOUNT WAS 0.27 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.
THE GREATEST 24-HOUR PRECIPITATION TOTAL WAS 0.58 INCHES WHICH
OCCURRED ON THE 2ND AND 3RD. THERE WAS A TOTAL OF 10.8 INCHES OF SNOW
DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY. THE GREATEST ONE-DAY SNOWFALL TOTAL
WAS 6.5 INCHES WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 2ND OF THE MONTH.

DAILY RECORD HIGH OF 62 DEGREES ON THE 27TH.  THE PREVIOUS RECORD
WAS 60 DEGREES PREVIOUSLY SET IN 1896 AND 1976.

...DISCUSSION...

DURING FEBRUARY OF 2015...TEMPERATURES AVERAGED 25.5 DEGREES WHICH
WAS 3.0 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THIS WAS THE WARMEST SINCE 2012
WHEN THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 29.1 DEGREES. TEMPERATURES WERE
ABOVE NORMAL ON 18 DAYS...NORMAL ON 2 DAYS...AND BELOW NORMAL ON 9
DAYS. THE COLDEST STRETCH OF DAYS WAS FROM THE 9TH THROUGH 14TH WHEN
THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 13.9 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL.  MEANWHILE
THE WARMEST STRETCH OF DAYS WAS FROM THE 18TH THROUGH 29TH.
DURING THIS PERIOD...TEMPERATURES AVERAGED 11.2 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.

MOST OF THE PRECIPITATION AND SNOW FELL ON THE 2ND AND 3RD WHEN A
WINTER STORM MOVED NORTHEAST THROUGH THE REGION.  THIS STORM
PRODUCED 8.4 INCHES OF SNOW WITH A WATER EQUIVALENT OF 0.63 INCHES.
THIS WAS THE LARGEST FEBRUARY SNOWFALL SINCE FEBRUARY 23-25 2007
WHEN 21 INCHES OF SNOW FELL.
