...DISCUSSION...

A RATHER PERSISTENT RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE WESTERN UNITED
STATES PUT THE AREA INTO A PREDOMINATELY NORTHWEST FLOW THAT HELD
THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE DOWN AND PRODUCED LOWER THAN NORMAL
RAINFALL. THE 16 DAYS OF BELOW NORMAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURES DURING THE
MONTH WERE OFFSET BY THE 11 DAYS OF ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES WHICH
LEAD TO THE NEARLY NORMAL MONTHLY TEMPERATURE. RAINFALL WAS RATHER
SPARSE WITH THE BULK OF THE RAIN FALLING ON THE 10TH AND 28TH WHEN
0.51 HUNDREDTHS AND 1.49 INCHES FELL.
