THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE IN LA CROSSE WAS 11.2 DEGREES. THIS WAS 11.2
DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE AVERAGE HIGH WAS 21.5 DEGREES WHILE THE
AVERAGE LOW WAS 1.0 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH
WAS 40 DEGREES ON THE 7TH. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE IN FEBRUARY WAS
-15 DEGREES WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 23RD.

A TOTAL OF 0.54 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS MEASURED DURING THE

FEBRUARY WAS MOSTLY DOMINATED BY A NORTHWEST FLOW THAT ALLOWED COLD
ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE TO MAKE REPEATED DROPS INTO THE REGION. THE
11.2 DEGREE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE RANKED AS THE 9TH COLDEST ON
RECORD...REMEMBERING ALSO THAT FEBRUARY 2014 WAS THE 4TH COLDEST...
MAKING FOR BACK TO BACK COLD FEBRUARYS. THERE WERE 22 DAYS DURING
THE MONTH WITH BELOW NORMAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURES. THE TOTAL SNOWFALL
FOR THE MONTH OF 9.2 INCHES WAS 1.0 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL. HOWEVER THE
PRECIPITATION CONTENT IN THE SNOW WAS ONLY 0.54 INCHES...WHICH WAS
0.51 BELOW NORMAL AND RANKED AS THE DRIEST FEBRUARY SINCE 2000.
