BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION...

THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE IN ROCHESTER WAS 66.5 DEGREES. THIS
WAS 2.6 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL FOR THE MONTH. THE AVERAGE HIGH WAS
75.9 DEGREES AND THE AVERAGE LOW WAS 57.2 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST
TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 86 DEGREES...WHICH OCCURRED ON THE
14TH. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE IN AUGUST WAS 47 DEGREES...WHICH
OCCURRED ON THE 26TH.

ROCHESTER RECEIVED 3.16 INCHES OF RAINFALL DURING THE MONTH. THIS
WAS 1.36 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. THE GREATEST 24 HOUR RAINFALL WAS 1.42
INCHES FELL FROM THE 18TH TO THE 19TH. THE TOTAL PRECIPITATION FOR
THE YEAR AT MONTHS END WAS 25.17 INCHES...NORMAL IS 24.19 INCHES.

STATES PUT THE AREA INTO A PREDOMINATELY NORTHWEST FLOW THAT
PRODUCED COOLER AND DRIER WEATHER. A TOTAL OF 19 DAYS DURING THE
MONTH HAD BELOW NORMAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURES...WITH THE COOLEST DAY
BEING THE 24TH WHEN THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE DAY WAS 57
DEGREES...WHICH WAS 11 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. RAINFALL FOR THE MONTH
WAS SPARSE WITH THE MAJORITY OF THE RAIN FALLING ON THE 18TH AND
28TH...WHEN 1.41 INCHES AND 0.86 HUNDREDTHS OF RAIN FELL.
