...TEMPERATURES AT ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA WERE SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL
AND PRECIPITATION WAS ABOVE NORMAL DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 70.1 DEGREES. THIS WAS ONE DEGREE ABOVE
NORMAL. THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 79.7 DEGREES AND THE
AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 60.6 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE
FOR THE MONTH WAS 86 DEGREES WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 3RD AND 10TH. THE
COLDEST TEMPERATURE WAS 53 DEGREES WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 21ST, 22ND
AND 26TH.

ROCHESTER RECEIVED 5.74 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION DURING THE MONTH.
THIS WAS 1.22 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL. THE GREATEST 24-HOUR
PRECIPITATION TOTAL WAS 1.88 INCHES WHICH OCCURRED FROM THE 18TH TO
THE 19TH.

NO RECORDS WERE SET IN THE MONTH OF AUGUST.

...DISCUSSION...

TEMPERATURES WERE SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL AT ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA
DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST, ALTHOUGH THERE WERE SOME COOLER
STRETCHES. FROM THE 19TH THROUGH THE 27TH, HIGH TEMPERATURES DID NOT
EXCEED 80 DEGREES, INCLUDING A HIGH OF ONLY 69 ON THE 20TH. THE
WARMEST TEMPERATURE OF THE MONTH WAS 86 DEGREES, WHICH OCCURRED ON
BOTH THE 3RD AND 10TH.

WHILE THERE WERE SOME DRIER PERIODS, ROCHESTER RECEIVED ABOVE NORMAL
PRECIPITATION FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST. FROM THE 1ST THROUGH THE
10TH, ONLY TWO DAYS CONTAINED MEASURABLE PRECIPITATION, ONE OF WHICH
WAS THE 4TH ON WHICH 1.09 INCHES OF RAIN FELL. THE END OF THE MONTH
WAS ALSO DRY, WITH NO MEASURABLE PRECIPITATION OCCURRING AFTER THE
23RD. THERE WERE FIVE DAYS IN AUGUST WITH AT LEAST HALF AN INCH OF
PRECIPITATION, WHICH IS NEARLY DOUBLE THE MONTHLY NORMAL OF THREE
DAYS. THE GREATEST 24-HOUR PRECIPITATION TOTAL OCCURRED FROM THE
18TH INTO THE 19TH, WHICH WAS 1.88 INCHES.
