This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited non thunderstorm wind risk.
Significant frost risk.
Elevated fire weather risk.
DISCUSSION...
Widespread areas of frost development are expected this morning
in areas east of I-49, with patchy frost possible near and west
I-49.
Elevated fire risk exists this afternoon within a dry air mass,
with minimum RH values of 20-30% and the driest areas within in
the eastern Ozarks. Southerly winds will be sustained at 10-20mph,
but gusts up to 30mph are possible in the afternoon. Any
vegetation that has not greened up yet and remains dry will be
especially susceptible to fire.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.
Gusty southerly winds up to around 30 mph will occur on Monday.
Elevated fire weather conditions will occur again on Monday as a
dry air mass and the gusty winds combine.
There is a 20 to 60 percent chance of showers Tuesday, mainly
across central Missouri.
Higher chances of showers and thunderstorms, 40 to 80 percent
chances, return Thursday and Friday. Some strong to severe
thunderstorms may be possible on Friday. Shower and storm chances
could linger into next weekend.
