BALTIMORE MD...BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL THURGOOD
MARSHALL AIRPORT...

THE MONTHLY AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL. MONTHLY
PRECIPITATION WAS BELOW NORMAL. SNOWFALL WAS BELOW NORMAL.

LAST MONTH RANKED AS THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE DECEMBER WITHOUT
MEASURABLE SNOWFALL. THIS IS ONLY THE SECOND TIME ON RECORD THAT TWO
DECEMBERS IN A ROW FAILED TO HAVE MEASURABLE SNOW IN THE BALTIMORE
MD AREA SINCE SNOWFALL RECORDS BEGAN IN 1892. THE OTHER TIME WAS IN
1971-72.

LAST MONTH WAS ALSO THE SIXTH STRAIGHT DECEMBER TO RANK WARMER THAN
NORMAL.

CLIMATE RECORDS HAVE BEEN KEPT AT BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL
THURGOOD MARSHALL AIRPORT SINCE 1950. ADDITIONAL TEMPERATURE
RECORDS FOR THE BALTIMORE MD AREA EXTEND BACK TO JULY OF 1872.
PRECIPITATION RECORDS EXTEND BACK TO JANUARY OF 1871. SNOWFALL
RECORDS BEGAN IN MARCH OF 1892.

ALL CLIMATE DATA ARE CONSIDERED PRELIMINARY UNTIL REVIEWED BY THE
NATIONAL CENTERS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION (NCEI).
