REMARKS...

THE MONTH OF OCTOBER AT THE GRAND FORKS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
OVERALL WAS ABOVE NORMAL WITH RESPECT TO TEMPERATURES. THERE WAS
A NEW RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE SET ON OCTOBER 17 WITH A VALUE OF
80 DEGREES BREAKING THE OLD HIGH OF 78 SET IN 1963. A RECORD HIGH
TEMPERATURE WAS TIED ON OCTOBER 20 WITH A TEMPERATURE OF 79 WHICH
TIED THE RECORD OF 79 SET IN 1978.  THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE
MONTH WAS 46.6 DEGREES WHICH IS 3.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL.

PRECIPITATION FOR OCTOBER WAS A DRY MONTH AT GRAND FORKS
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WITH A LIQUID PRECIPITATION TOTAL OF 0.12
INCHES. THE NORMAL LIQUID PRECIPITATION IS 1.97 INCHES SO OCTOBER
WAS 1.85 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. IN OCTOBER 0.2 INCHES OF SNOW FELL
WHICH IS 1.3 INCHES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 1.5 INCHES.
