...Heavy Rainfall Possible Friday Into Early This Weekend...

A surface low is forecast to develop over the Gulf of Mexico
sometime on Friday and move eastward across portions of the
Florida Peninsula Friday night into Saturday morning. A warm front
will lift north of the area early on Friday, with a cold front
crossing the area later in the day. This will lead to couple of
rounds of potential heavy rain and thunderstorms over South
Florida during this time frame.

The forecast soundings are also showing that the precipitable
water values will be around 1.6 to 1.8 inches which is above the
90th percentile and near the maximum values for this time of
year. This means that heavy rainfall is also possible with the
rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Current forecast calls for 3
to 6 inches of rain, with locally high amounts possible,
especially along and south of Alligator Alley.

While South Florida has been dry the past week, heavy rainfall may
still lead to instances of flooding, especially across urban and
poor drainage locations.
