...HEAVY RAINFALL LIKELY FROM TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY...

.A FRONT WILL BECOME STATIONARY OVER THE REGION TODAY.
INTERMITTENT SHOWERS AND A FEW STORMS ARE EXPECTED TODAY...WITH
POCKETS OF LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL POSSIBLE. ESPECIALLY WHERE CELLS
TRAIN OVER THE SAME AREAS.

THE BEST OPPORTUNITY FOR WIDESPREAD MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL
WILL DEVELOP OVER THE REGION TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY AS AN AREA OF
LOW PRESSURE MOVES ALONG THE STATIONARY BOUNDARY OVERNIGHT
TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN TWO AND FOUR INCHES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS
THE WATCH AREA...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. THE
HEAVIEST RAINFALL IS CURRENTLY EXPECTED ALONG AND NORTHWEST OF
THE INTERSTATE 44 CORRIDOR.

SOILS ARE ALREADY SATURATED ACROSS THE REGION...AND MANY CREEKS...
STREAMS AND RIVERS ARE ALREADY RUNNING ABOVE NORMAL. THIS
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO LEAD TO FLOODING OF STREAMS
AND RIVERS IN SOME AREAS...ALONG WITH THE FLOODING OF MANY LOW
WATER CROSSINGS.

  FOLLOWING AREAS...IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS...BOURBON...CHEROKEE
  AND CRAWFORD. IN MISSOURI...BARRY...BARTON...BENTON...
  CAMDEN...CEDAR...CHRISTIAN...DADE...DALLAS...DENT...DOUGLAS...
  GREENE...HICKORY...JASPER...LACLEDE...LAWRENCE...MARIES...
  MCDONALD...MILLER...MORGAN...NEWTON...OZARK...PHELPS...POLK...
  PULASKI...ST. CLAIR...STONE...TANEY...TEXAS...VERNON...
  WEBSTER AND WRIGHT.

  AREA. WIDESPREAD MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL WILL DEVELOP ACROSS
  THE REGION TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY AS LOW PRESSURE MOVES NORTHEAST
  ALONG A FRONT THAT IS STALLED OVER THE AREA. STORM TOTAL
  RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN TWO AND FOUR INCHES ARE CURRENTLY
  EXPECTED ACROSS THE WATCH AREA...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS
  POSSIBLE. THE HIGHEST RAINFALL AMOUNTS THROUGH WEDNESDAY ARE
  CURRENTLY EXPECTED ALONG AND NORTHWEST OF THE INTERSTATE 44
  CORRIDOR.

MARMATON...SPRING ...ELK...JAMES...AND GASCONADE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
