...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in Southwest
Lower Michigan...

  Kalamazoo River Near New Richmond affecting Allegan County
  Battle Creek At Battle Creek affecting Calhoun County

.Runoff and water from smaller tributaries will continue to run into
the Kalamazoo River today and Friday. This is expected to lead to a record
river stage along the Kalamazoo River at Comstock. The remainder of the river
is forecast to reach minor flood stage. A light wintry mix of precipitation
is expected late tonight and Friday morning. This precipitation is not expected
to have an impact on river levels or ongoing flooding.

The following forecast is based on observed and forecast 48 hour
precipitation.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...Motorists should not attempt to drive around
barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Kalamazoo River Near New Richmond.
* until Wednesday evening.
* at 10:00 AM Thursday the stage was 17.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, the river will continue rising to near 18.4 feet by
  tomorrow morning. The river will fall below flood stage Wednesday
  morning.
* Impact, at 19.0 feet...Expect moderate flooding of low lying areas
  and farmland along the river.  Considerable flooding of boat launch
  and trails along the river.
* Flood history, this crest compares to a previous crest of 18.5 feet
  on Apr 20 2013.

  the Battle Creek At Battle Creek.
* until Saturday morning.
* at 10:15 AM Thursday the stage was 4.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, rise above flood stage by late this morning and continue
  to rise to near 4.2 feet by this evening. the river will fall below
  flood stage by tomorrow evening.
* Impact, at 4.3 feet...Water begins to flow around Verona Dam
  directly below gauge, jeopardizing the dam.
