FLOOD STATEMENT

For the Lower Humboldt, including Battle Mountain...Comus, Moderate
flooding is occurring at Comus and minor flooding at Battle Mountain.
The flooding is expected to continue.

 ...The water level downstream of Comus and in the city
of Winnemucca will continue to rise through today. Battle
Mountain will hold steady or slightly rise through the
weekend...

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Humboldt River At Battle Mountain.
* until further notice.
* At  3:15 AM Thursday the stage was 10.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Impact...at 10.0 feet...Minor to moderate lowland flooding
  throughout reach. Some rural roads near the river are flooded.
  About 3000 cfs, a 4 year flood, 25 percent chance any year.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Humboldt River At Comus.
* until further notice.
* At  3:15 AM Thursday the stage was 10.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 10.4 feet
  by early tomorrow.
* Impact...at 11.0 feet...Moderate to major lowland flooding
  throughout reach. Many rural roads near river flooded. Minor to
  moderate flooding in lower portions of Winnemucca. Main area
  impacted is between UPRR and Golconda street on west and second
  street on the east, beneath i80. 3800 cfs, about a 14 year flood, 7
  percent chance any year. Similar to floods of June 1921 and April
  1969.
