RIVER FLOOD STATEMENT

...The flood warning continues for the following rivers...Ohio River.
  At Huntington...

Affecting the following counties in Kentucky...Boyd and in Ohio...Lawrence and
in West Virginia...Cabell...Wayne.

...The flood warning continues for the following rivers...Ohio River.
  At Point Pleasant...
  At Ashland...
  At Greenup Lock...

Affecting the following counties in Kentucky...Boyd...Greenup and in Ohio...
Gallia...Lawrence...Scioto and in West Virginia...Mason.

A broad crest extends from Pomeroy to Point Pleasant on the Ohio River.
The lower end of the Ohio river will continue to see slow rises before
the crest reaches Greenup Lock after Midnight tonight.

Backwater flooding will continue all along the Ohio River until the river
recedes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around and don`t drown.  Do not drive into areas where
water is flowing over the roadway.  Most deaths occur when motorists
try crossing flooded roads.

Please report high water to the National Weather Service by
calling toll free...1-800-401-9535...when you can do so safely.

page...or by using the Twitter HASHTAG...NWSRLX.

conditions change.

  the Ohio River At Point Pleasant.
* AT  9:00 PM Friday the stage was 44.2 feet.
* Moderate Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 40.0 feet.
* The river is currently cresting.
* Forecast...The river will to fall to below flood stage by late
  morning Saturday .
* At stages near 44.3 feet...Old route 35 above Henderson is flooded.

* AT  8:26 PM Friday the stage was 54.9 feet.
* Minor Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 52.0 feet.
* Forecast...The River will continue rising to near 55.1 feet by after midnight
  . The river will fall below flood stage Saturday evening.
* At stages near 55.5 feet...Route 3 is flooded at Catlettsburg.
* A crest near 55.1 feet compares to a previous crest of 56.2 feet on March 13
  2011.

  the Ohio River At Greenup Lock.
* AT  8:30 PM Friday the stage was 53.9 feet.
* Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 54.0 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage this evening and continue to rise to near
  55.9 feet by Saturday morning. the river will fall below flood stage by early
  Sunday morning.
* At stages near 56.0 feet...Several low lying areas flooded and backwater
  affects on both sides of the river.
* A crest near 55.9 feet compares to a previous crest of 56.8 feet on March 13
  2011.
