Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Interior Alaska
National Weather Service Fairbanks AK
428 PM AKDT Sat Apr 29 2017

.DISCUSSION...
A surface low pressure trough stretching from Chicken to Livengood
will persist tonight. Moderate moisture is allowing isolated showers
to form near this trough today, with thunderstorms possible in
the Fortymile area this afternoon and evening. Showers
are high based so little precipitation will hit the ground in
valleys with higher amounts in higher terrain.

The trough will move to Chicken to Nenana on Sunday and strengthen
slightly then remain in place through Monday. Limited moisture is
allowing isolated showers to form in the area of this trough today,
with thunderstorms possible in the Fortymile area this afternoon
and evening. South winds through Alaska Range passes will increase Sun
afternoon and persist through Mon.

Humidities will decrease Sun night and Mon as weak downslope flow
develops across the Alaska Range.
