FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR ALASKA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ANCHORAGE AK
354 PM AKDT SUN JUL 5 2015

.DISCUSSION...

ANOTHER ROUND OF RAINFALL WILL DESCEND UPON SOUTHWEST ALASKA THIS
EVENING AND CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY AS AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE
MOVING INTO THE BERING SEA PUSHES A FRONT ACROSS SOUTHWEST ALASKA.
WETTING RAINS APPEAR LIKELY ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA OVER THE NEXT
SEVERAL DAYS...WITH THE HIGHEST RAINFALL AMOUNTS ALONG THE WESTERN
CAPES AND THE ALASKA PENINSULA. AREAS ALONG THE LEE OF THE MOUNTAINS
WILL INITIALLY SEE DOWNSLOPE DRYING CONDITIONS DELAYING THE START OF
RAIN...BUT THIS DRYING WILL BE OVERCOME AS A SERIES OF UPPER LEVEL
DISTURBANCES PUSH ACROSS THE AREA STARTING MONDAY MORNING. RAINFALL
WILL BEGIN TO TAPER OFF MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY FROM SOUTH TO NORTH.
