FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL/NORTHERN VERMONT AND
NORTHERN NEW YORK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
418 AM EDT WED JUL 23 2014

...STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS POSSIBLE TODAY...

.DISCUSSION...
A COLD FRONT WILL CROSS THE AREA TODAY INTO EARLY THIS EVENING WITH
SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS PROVIDING A NEEDED
AND WELCOMED RAINFALL. A FEW OF THE STORMS MAY BECOME STRONG TO
LOCALLY SEVERE HOWEVER...ESPECIALLY FROM EASTERN NEW YORK INTO
VERMONT FROM LATE MORNING ONWARD. STRONG GUSTY WINDS WILL
BE THE PRIMARY CONCERN. SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL END BY THIS EVENING
AS THE COLD FRONT CLEARS EAST. BEHIND THE FRONT...A RETURN TO MAINLY
DRY AND SEASONABLE WEATHER IS EXPECTED BY THURSDAY INTO THIS UPCOMING
SATURDAY AS SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS INTO THE REGION. AFTERNOON
MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL FALL INTO THE 30 TO 40 PERCENT
RANGE...WITH DECENT OVERNIGHT RECOVERY IN VALUES EXPECTED THROUGH
THIS PERIOD. A RETURN TO UNSETTLED...SHOWERY WEATHER IS THEN EXPECTED
BY SUNDAY INTO THE EARLY PORTIONS OF NEXT WEEK.
