FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
541 AM EDT WED SEP 28 2016

.DISCUSSION...
A COLD FRONT WILL PUSH INTO THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON
AND EVENING SLOWLY PUSHING TO THE COAST ON EARLY THURSDAY.
SCATTERED SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED THIS
AFTERNOON AND MAY LINGER THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS AS
THE COLD FRONT PASSES. SURFACE AND TRANSPORT WINDS WILL
BE STRONGER TODAY FROM THE SOUTHWEST WITH FAVORABLE
MIXING HEIGHTS AROUND 5000 FT. DEEPER MIXING IS EXPECTED
ON THURSDAY AS DRIER AIR MOVES INTO THE REGION BEHIND
THE FRONT. WIDESPREAD FOG IS NOT EXPECTED TO BE AN ISSUE
THIS MORNING BUT COULD BE MORE OF A THREAT THURSDAY MORNING.
