FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
238 PM CDT SAT APR 30 2016

.DISCUSSION...
A PERSISTENT SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST LOW-LEVEL WIND FLOW WILL
MAINTAIN WARM/MOIST CONDITIONS ACROSS THE CENTRAL TN VALLEY
FROM TONIGHT-MONDAY...WITH ELEVATED CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH THE PERIOD. GUSTY WINDS, LIGHTNING AND
LOCALLY HEAVY DOWNPOURS WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THIS ACTIVITY. A
COLD FRONT IS EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY SHIFT SOUTHEASTWARD THROUGH
THE REGION ON MONDAY...VEERING WINDS TO THE NORTHWEST AND
BRINGING AN END TO WIDESPREAD PRECIPITATION AS COOLER/DRIER AIR
FILTERS INTO NORTHERN ALABAMA. TRANSPORT FLOW IN THE 10-20 MPH
RANGE AND MIXING HEIGHTS BETWEEN 4500-5500 FT WILL SUPPORT
GENERALLY GOOD SMOKE DISPERSION BOTH SUNDAY AND MONDAY.

A NORTHWEST FLOW IS FORECAST TO CONTINUE FOR THE REMAINDER OF
THE WORK WEEK AND INTO NEXT WEEKEND...BRINGING COOLER TEMPS AND
DRY CONDITIONS TO THE REGION. AFTERNOON RH VALUES WILL LIKELY
FALL INTO THE 35-40% RANGE WED-THUR-FRI.
