FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
441 AM CST THU JAN 29 2015

.DISCUSSION...
LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS ARE POSSIBLE TODAY AS A COLD FRONT APPROACHES
FROM THE WEST. MIXING HEIGHTS WILL RISE CLOSE TO 3500 FEET THIS
AFTERNOON BEFORE DROPPING THIS EVENING. COMBINED WITH 20-FOOT WINDS
OF 10-15 MPH GUSTING TO 20 MPH, DISPERSION IS FORECAST TO BE
GENERALLY GOOD.

DRY WEATHER SHOULD RETURN ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AS A HIGH PRESSURE
SYSTEM MOVES EAST JUST TO THE NORTH OF NORTHERN ALABAMA. MIXING
HEIGHTS WILL ONLY APPROACH 3000 FEET ON FRIDAY WHICH WILL TRANSLATE
TO FAIR DISPERSION.

THEN, WIDESPREAD RAINFALL IS EXPECTED ON SUNDAY INTO MONDAY AS A
STRONG UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE AND COLD FRONT MOVES ACROSS NORTHERN
ALABAMA. THIS WILL TRANSLATE TO COOLER TEMPERATURES AND MINIMUM
RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES CLOSE TO 40%. DRY AND WARM CONDITIONS WILL
THEN PERSIST ON TUESDAY.
