Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL

.DISCUSSION...

A cold front continues to push southeastward and away from the
region this afternoon. Gusty north-northwest winds in the wake
of the front will pull a drier airmass into the region...making
for pleasantly warm days and cool nights through the middle of
next week. That said, a weak upper-level disturbance will push
across the region on Monday night/Tuesday, perhaps bringing a few
showers to northern areas. Afternoon RH values will primarily be
in the 30-40% range on Sun/Mon/Tue, with mixing heights between
5-6 kft leading to generally good smoke dispersion. A southerly
flow will return to the region late next week, bringing a return
of warm and seasonably humid conditions along with a chance of
afternoon showers/thunderstorms.

Fog potential over the next few days: Limited threat for fog in
valleys and near large bodies of water on Sunday night/Monday
morning.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
