Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
246 PM CST Sat Feb 24 2018

.DISCUSSION...Strong gusty winds this afternoon will continue this
evening ahead of a cold front that will be dropping into the area.
A band of showers and thunderstorms will develop along and just
ahead of the front as it moves across our area. Some of the storms
will be severe and also produce heavy rainfall. The front will
push southeast of our southeast zones by noon Sunday but an upper
level disturbance will bring rain back into the area from the
south late Sunday afternoon and night. Dry weather is expected
Monday and Monday night but rain chances will increase from the
southwest Tuesday ahead of an upper level disturbance dropping
over the Southern Plains. Rain chances will continue Wednesday
into Thursday morning until a stronger cold front moves through
the region. Cooler and drier weather is expected Friday.
