RED FLAG WARNING FOR FIRE ZONE 677 IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM PDT THIS
EVENING

.DISCUSSION...

...THUNDERSTORMS WITH GUSTY WINDS TODAY...
...GUSTY WINDS WITH LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY THIS AFTERNOON
FOR THE CASCADE GAPS TOWARD WATERVILLE PLATEAU...

Thunderstorms with gusty outflow winds remain the biggest impact
tonight. The main area of concern will be from the Blue mountains
north across the eastern basin and across the central and
northern Panhandle. The main threat with these storms will be
gusty outflow winds 35-50 mph through about midnight. Showers and
thunderstorms will also move quickly north along the Cascades the
remainder of the afternoon. These storms will also have gusty
outflow winds and brief, localized heavy rain. The next impact is
the cold front that will swing through the region late this
afternoon and this evening. Winds through the Cascade gaps are
already on the increase and will continue through the night. The
relative humidity across the region is pretty dry, but the only
area of concern was fire zone 677 and a Red Flag warning was
issued for this through 2000. Conditions moderate quite a bit the
reminder of the week. Cooler, but very dry with much lighter winds
Tuesday. Temperatures will remain on the warm side of normal
through the weekend, with a few chances for showers or
thunderstorms in the northern and eastern mountains.
