Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NW Oregon and SW Washington
National Weather Service Portland OR
241 PM PDT Sun Jun 25 2017

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...A thermally induced trough of low pressure
over the Willamette Valley Sunday afternoon will move east of the
Cascades tonight, initiating an inland push of marine air. The
marine air will bring cooler marine air region-wide tonight and
Monday that will last through most of the week. There is a slight
chance for some thunderstorms tonight and Monday as an upper level
trough of low pressure moves across.

.DISCUSSION...The upper level ridge of high pressure from the
weekend will move east of the Cascades Sunday night. At the
surface, a thermally induced trough of low pressure over the
Willamette Valley will also move east of the Cascades overnight
returning cooler marine air to the forecast district by Monday. An
upper level disturbance tonight and Monday will bring a slight
chance for thunderstorms to the region tonight and Monday. A more
stable and cooler pattern with onshore flow will remain in place
through much of the coming week.
