FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH-CENTRAL
ARIZONA AND SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PHOENIX AZ
137 AM MST THU SEP 18 2014

.DISCUSSION...
HUMIDITIES WILL REMAIN ELEVATED THROUGH FRIDAY AS THE REMNANTS OF
HURRICANE ODILE SLOWLY EXIT THE AREA. THIS WILL RESULT IN A FAIRLY
TYPICAL MONSOON PATTERN OF PRIMARILY MOUNTAIN SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS...WITH MUCH MORE ISOLATED ACTIVITY ACROSS THE DESERTS.
SOME DRIER AIR WILL BEGIN TO WORK INTO THE AREA THIS WEEKEND BUT
UNTIL THEN HUMIDITIES WILL REMAIN IN THE 20-30 PERCENT RANGE EACH
AFTERNOON WITH GOOD/EXCELLENT OVERNIGHT RECOVERIES EXPECTED. OUTSIDE
OF THUNDERSTORMS...WINDS WILL BE LIGHT AND WILL FAVOR THE TYPICAL
DIURNAL PATTERNS.

...THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY GUSTY WINDS...

NOTE...ADDITIONAL FIRE WEATHER FORECAST INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND
IN THE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. SEE PRODUCT PHXAFDPSR.
