Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Kansas and Southwest and Central Missouri
National Weather Service Springfield MO
833 AM CST Wed Dec 13 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Elevated to locally significant fire weather conditions will impact
all districts today. Another dry cold front will push across the
region with winds becoming west to northwest behind the front. Gusty
winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to around 30 mph along with low
relative humidities will lead to the heightened fire weather risk.

Another elevated fire weather day is expected on Saturday as dry
and mild conditions continue with stronger winds. There is some
good news though, a storm system is expected to develop over Texas
and lift northeast. This will bring our best chance for
widespread rain to the region, although amounts look to be on
the lighter side.
