Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA
336 PM CDT Thu Sep 21 2017

.DISCUSSION...
Sea-breeze convection across southern LA has shifted northward to
across portions of Dee east Texas and east Texas late this
afternoon. A brief period of moderate rainfall and occasional
lightning may occur with this activity. Should see the
precipitation dissipate at or shortly after sunset.

Excellent recoveries of overnight relative humidity values are
expected /90-95 percent/. Above normal warmth will continue
through the weekend, though ensuing southerly 20-foot winds will
maintain humidities in the 40-50 percent range during peak
heating. Slight chances for diurnally driven showers and
thunderstorms will occur tomorrow and again on Saturday, mainly
across deep east Texas and central Louisiana. This activity may
not result in substantial wetting rains. However, due to southerly
20-foot wind speeds below 10 mph, coupled with humidities
remaining above critical thresholds despite above normal warmth,
will lead to nil fire weather concerns.

Note: It has been several weeks since beneficial wetting rains has
affected the Four-State region. The United States Drought Monitor
has been updated to reflect this lack of rainfall with the insertion
of abnormally dry conditions across southeast OK, extreme northeast
TX portions of southwest AR and northwest LA.
