SERVICE.

.DISCUSSION...

...DENSE SMOKE ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM AKDT THIS EVENING...

AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE EAST FROM THE
NORTHWEST COAST TOWARD THE CENTRAL INTERIOR TODAY AND TONIGHT.
THIS WILL ALLOW FOR WESTERLY WINDS...WHICH MAY BECOME GUSTY AT
TIMES DURING THE AFTERNOON. THE WESTERLY WINDS ARE FORECAST TO
WEAKEN SLIGHTLY OVERNIGHT...AND THEN BACK TO THE SOUTHWEST ON
FRIDAY. THE TEMPERATURE FORECAST CALLS FOR HIGHS SIMILAR TO
YESTERDAY...ALLOWING RELATIVE HUMIDITY TO FALL INTO THE LOWER 40S
DURING PEAK HEATING.

LOOKING AHEAD TO FRIDAY AND BEYOND...ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE
POSSIBLE FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING...THEN ONCE AGAIN ON
SATURDAY. WIDESPREAD WETTING RAINS ARE NOT ANTICIPATED HOWEVER.
GUSTY ERRATIC WINDS WOULD BE EXPECTED WITH ANY THUNDERSTORM THAT
DEVELOPS. OTHERWISE THE AFOREMENTIONED TROUGH WILL WEAKEN OVER THE
CENTRAL INTERIOR FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. THE AVAILABLE MODEL DATA
SUGGESTS AN EASTERLY GENERAL WIND COMPONENT THIS WEEKEND...BUT AT
TIMES THE WIND WILL BACK TO THE NORTHEAST OR VEER TO THE
SOUTHEAST. TEMPERATURES WILL WARM THIS WEEKEND AND EARLY NEXT WEEK
AS UPPER RIDGING SPREADS NORTH ACROSS THE INTERIOR.
